Worth taking more than once ---- WSTH course in Sun City, USA, March 2025. Organized by Inertia therapy Services

Water Specific Therapy-Halliwick continuing education course has been an excellent learning opportunity. It is the type of course worth taking more than once (which I have!), not only as a refresher, but to also benefit from updated content on the evidence supporting aquatic therapy (AT) as a treatment intervention for a variety of health conditions. The lecturers did well in connecting AT to the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF) model and exercise intensity/duration parameters, which to me added additional clinical relevance for the application of AT to improve patient outcomes. They consistently challenged us to reflect on how to apply AT movements and exercise with specific intention, albeit to promote strength, coordination/balance, or cardiopulmonary health. I walked away from the course I attended in March 2025 with ideas on how to increase the challenge of AT exercises by adding cognitive engagement, something as both a Physical and Occupational Therapist I truly appreciated. I highly recommend taking this course!
