Halliwick Courses
Johan Lambeck was educated by McMillan and started as a certified senior lecturer in the therapeutic "Rhine-System"of Halliwick. This is one of the three systems, acknowledged by the International Halliwick Association (IHA).
The other two systems are the English and the Danish system.
In the Rhine-System, two Halliwick programmes are taught: the Ten-Point- Programme and Water Specific Therapy (in separate or integrated courses).
The second programme is a therapeutic extension of the Ten-Point- Programme, focused on objectives like: stabilization of joints, facilitation of equilibrium reactions, modification of stiffness, trunk mobility, gait training.
Both courses take about 30/35 hours and lead to official Halliwick Foundation-certification. The integrated course is about 50 hours.Through the courses, Johan wants to establish a global network of people that apply Halliwick.
The Module 1 Course focuses on:
- The Ten-Point-Programme
- Fluidmechanics
- Human balance in water
- The importance of rotations
- Handling and holding
- Expression and grouping
The Module 2 Course focuses on:
- Water Specific Therapy
- Pretraining to therapy
- Therapeutic rotation and stabilization
- Physiology, Exercise physiology, Neurophysiology of immersion
- Motor learning in water
- Applications for all patient groups
- Relations with other methods in aquatic and dry-land physiotherapy (Bad Ragaz, Ai Chi, Bobath, neurotraining)
Another Module 2 course is focused on using Halliwick in groups, the development of games and activities, leadership and the use of music
