Halliwick news: Changes - Änderungen - Veranderingen - Mudanças
On this site, the "classical" Halliwick terminology and Ten-Point sequence can be found in various files. Halliwick is a concept that changes due to influences from e.g. motor learning. Therefore a new sequence is in development, as can be seen below.
| The Ten-Point-Programme | The three learning stages |
| Mental Adjustment, including Breath Control | Mental Adjustment and Disengagement |
Sagittal Rotation Control
Transversal Rotation Control*
Longitudinal Rotation Control*
Combined Rotation Control
Upthrust (Mental Inversion)
Balance in Stillness
Turbulent Gliding
Simple Progression
| Balance Control and Disengagement |
| Basic Halliwick Movement(s) | Movement and Disengagement |
- Note:
-
Transversal is the new term for Vertical
Longitudinal is the new term for Lateral
In Halliwick, rotations are named according to the axis of rotation, not according to their plane!
Another sequence can also be found in recent publications (see www.halliwick.org). This sequence is used in the Halliwick swimming sequence, whereas the first sequence is the one that is used in therapy.
